We’re looking for a Systems Optimisation Engineer to join our Thames Water Lot 3 contract, supporting our Network Operations Team across London and the Thames Valley. In this role, you’ll be at the heart of solving pressure-related challenges—investigating low-pressure issues, customer complaints and critical alarms, then developing smart, data-led solutions to keep our network performing at its best. You’ll monitor DMA and DM availability, support technical fixes, and create robust risk assessments for activities impacting the clean water network. From pressure-managed areas to asset operations and outage planning, you’ll ensure all work aligns with Thames Water’s Asset Management Procedures. You’ll also dig into long-term network behaviours—head loss, low flows, supply resilience and water quality trends—using operational data to spot issues, improve system integrity and update hydraulic schematics that guide future decisions.
What you’ll bring:
- Proven experience and track record of network operations and a knowledge of key activities such as valve operations, mains flushing and issuing/compliance with permits to work.
- Have a clear understanding of the Permit to Work system.
- Have previous knowledge and experience with GIS mapping software and hydraulic modelling. This is preferred, but not mandatory.
