Where will you be working? You will be joining our M&E team as a Non-working Supervisor working on a section of works on Hinkley Point C. Join a Landmark Energy Project Shaping the UK's Future. Be part of a pioneering initiative to generate reliable, low-carbon electricity and play a vital role in meeting the UK’s climate change commitments and energy security goals. Located on the scenic north Somerset coast, this is the first nuclear power station built in a generation, featuring the advanced EPR reactor design also used for Sizewell C. With the capacity to power six million homes for the next 60 years around 7% of the UK’s total energy needs, this project is a cornerstone of the nation’s sustainable energy strategy. Since construction began in 2018, progress has been significant, with major structures such as reactor buildings and domes now in place and core component installation underway. This is more than just an infrastructure project; it’s a catalyst for employment and innovation. Requirements:

  • You must be able to obtain a HPC pass to be offered a permanent contract of employment.
  • You must be able to provide a 3-year Documented History which should include Education/Work/ or any periods of unemployment these are required for the vetting process in line with HPC protocols.
  • The site is located remotely and a bus journey of 45 minutes each way is required to gain access. Subsidiary allowance will be considered for candidates living away from home.

What will you be doing?

  • You’ll be crucial to the planning, delegating, and monitoring the work of others on site to ensure productivity and quality, while also managing tasks like scheduling, performance reviews, training, and ensuring safety and compliance.
  • You’ll monitor the progress of the cable pulling operation to ensure it stays on schedule.
  • You’ll plan workloads and tasks for your team, delegate responsibilities, and set clear goals and deadlines.
  • Monitoring employee performance, conduct reviews, and provide feedback and guidance for improvement.
  • You’ll brief teams on company news, toolbox talks, objectives, and policy changes, and provide support to team members.
  • You’ll manage schedules, leave requests, and ensure adequate resources and training for staff.
  • Maintain quality standards, ensure compliance with regulations, and ensure the workplace is safe and healthy.
  • Handle complex inquiries, complaints, and conflicts within the team.
  • You’ll report on team performance and issues to senior management.

What you’ll bring:

  • One of the following qualifications required: ECS Gold Card, Pre Qualification Technical Profile demonstrating minimum 5 years' experience, SVQ or NVQ Level 3 Electrotechnical Services (Installing and Inspecting Structured Cabling Systems), ECS White Card with gold stripe.
  • Enrolment onto ILM Level 3 Certificate C&BE plus completion of Nuclear Unit.
  • Confirmation of booking onto Nuclear Engineering Construction Supervisor (NECS).
  • Completion of ILM Level 3 Certificate C&BE (within 6 months of start date upon demonstration of enrolment) or Completion of Nuclear Engineering Construction Supervisor (NECS) within 4 weeks of start date upon demonstration of booking and CMI Level 3 (following completion of NECS).
  • Safety Certifications: Requires a valid CCNSG Safety Passport.
