Where will you be working?

As an organisation, there is little we don’t do and plenty to get involved in. Our Group Support roles are vital in making sure we can help over 11,000 people deliver essential infrastructure seamlessly across water, energy, transport and telecom. This role is in our Plant & Fleet department, our Plant & Fleet supports teams across our business with their vehicle, plant and specialist equipment needs, offering hire solutions that are commercially effective, reliable, safe and compliant.

What will you be doing?

In this role, you'll be at the heart of keeping our fleet vehicles running smoothly and reliably. Your expertise in routine maintenance and service repairs will ensure our fleet remains in top condition, ready for whatever challenges lie ahead. When mechanical or electrical faults arise, you'll diagnose the issues and get them fixed efficiently, making sure everything is in working order. Keeping accurate records is an essential part of the job, and you'll use a PDA device to log your daily work, ensuring all service and repair activities are properly documented. Whether handling minor fixes or tackling major repair work, you'll take on each task with confidence and skill, making a real difference in keeping operations moving. You'll also play an active role in monitoring fleet condition, identifying and recording any damaged vehicles at the depot so that issues can be addressed promptly. Safety and compliance are key, and you'll follow all M Group Services Plant & Fleet Solutions' Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment while carefully logging and completing jobs on your electronic device.

What you’ll bring:

  • Fully qualified LCV technician to NVQ3 or equivalent through a recognised training scheme
  • A driving Licence is essential
  • Independence & responsibility capable of carrying out statutory inspections, examinations and service activities on various Vehicles and accessories
  • Technical confidence experienced in using advanced diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
