Where will you be working?

We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure. This role will be within our water and wastewater capital project delivery team. Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.

What will you be doing?

As our Electrical Site Team Leader within the Construction Team, you'll supervise projects from inception through to completion on the Anglian Water contract based in Colchester. Reporting to the Site Manager, you'll manage day-to-day activities of delivery teams and subcontractors, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget while meeting required quality and performance standards. You'll take full accountability for on-site SHEQ performance, including completing inspections, toolbox talks, risk assessments, method statements, and recording near misses. A key part of the role is driving positive safety culture and continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with legislative, environmental, and contractual requirements. You'll also ensure appropriate welfare facilities, valid training and qualifications for site personnel, and accurate completion of all SHEQ and corporate documentation. The role requires strong coordination with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams, attendance at progress and review meetings, and oversight of multiple concurrent projects. You'll actively work to minimise physical and non-physical waste, support efficient delivery, and maintain high standards of personal health and safety across all site operations.

What you’ll bring:

  • Knowledge and experience in the water industry
  • Certificate in Site Safety Management (or attended 5-day course)
  • Trained and experienced in Electrical Installations in the construction industry
  • Effective manager of sub-contractors, able to influence client judgement
  • Basic Management training, skills & experience, with a good understanding of legislative and corporate SHEQ / Industry / Legal requirements
  • Comprehensive IT abilities including MS Suite, alongside good Project and programme management skills
  • Good communicator, able to communicate detailed data to a non-data literate audience and pass on skills

The role will be site-based, requiring regular communication together with other members of the construction and delivery team based in our local office.
