Our Group Support roles are vital in making sure we can help over 11,000 people deliver essential infrastructure seamlessly across water, energy, transport and telecom. This role is in our Plant & Fleet department, which supports teams across our business with their vehicle, plant and specialist equipment needs, offering hire solutions that are commercially effective, reliable, safe and compliant.

You will lead the implementation and ongoing development of the Group Road Risk Strategy and Framework across the division, ensuring road safety standards are consistently applied and embedded into everyday operations. Working closely with managers and drivers, you'll build capability, promote best practice, and help create a strong safety culture across the business. A key part of the role will involve identifying, assessing, and mitigating driving-related risks, implementing practical solutions that enhance fleet safety performance and reduce incidents. You'll use your expertise to drive continuous improvement and support compliance with road safety requirements.

Using telematics and driver monitoring systems, you'll analyse driving performance data to identify trends, recognise positive behaviours, and pinpoint areas for improvement. You'll then work with managers and drivers to deliver targeted coaching and interventions, helping to improve performance and ensure safer driving practices across the fleet.

What you’ll bring:

  • Demonstrable experience in fleet safety, road risk management, transport operations, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of fleet compliance requirements and driver safety best practices.
  • Proven ability to conduct incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Experience assessing operational risks and developing practical risk mitigation strategies.
  • Confident using data and insights to monitor performance, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Experience working with telematics, dashcams, and driver monitoring systems is desirable.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent health and safety qualification is desirable.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and coach managers and drivers at all levels.
