Where will you be working? At M Group Telecom, we’re enabling and enhancing telecom networks, playing a lead role in the delivery of our tech enabled future. We deliver full network cycle services for fixed, private and mobile operators. This role will be within our Fixed networks team, you’ll join our people who support providing turnkey solutions for the surveying, designing, building and commissioning new networks, while supporting the repair, maintenance and operation of existing networks. Project Gigabit is Openreach’s flagship initiative, delivering ultrafast, reliable full fibre broadband to hard-to-reach homes and businesses nationwide. As part of the UK’s digital acceleration strategy, Project Gigabit puts Openreach and you at the forefront of future-proof infrastructure development. As Survey Lead, you will help deliver one of the UK’s most ambitious fibre programmes.

What will you be doing? As the Survey Lead, you will:

  • Lead and manage the survey team, providing technical guidance and day-to-day support.
  • Assess survey estimates on behalf of the client, ensuring accuracy and value.
  • Report regularly against targets, KPIs, and deliverables, presenting project progress to stakeholders.
  • Validate and sign off surveys, guaranteeing quality and compliance, bridging site operations with the office.
  • Oversee stakeholder engagement, maintaining clear communication across project partners, clients, and internal teams.
  • Maintain responsibility for survey quality assurance, technical validation, and sign-off.

You’ll be required on-site and, in the office, collaborating closely to drive project excellence. You’ll play a pivotal role ensuring surveys are robust, accurate, and align with client and regulatory standards.

What you’ll bring:

  • Demonstrable management experience in a similar role within telecommunications or infrastructure surveying.
  • Strong background in survey assessment, quality control, and validation.
  • Technical expertise in fibre networks and surveying practices.
  • Ability to manage estimates and confidently report against project targets.
  • Proven stakeholder engagement, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Competence in using tablets/laptops and interpreting plans, drawings, and maps.
  • Accreditations: S11, S13, S17, S18, S20, S21 (Assessor desirable).
  • Full UK driving licence essential for regular travel.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented approach with a commitment to high standards.
