The Project Engineering Manager leads the safe, compliant and efficient technical delivery of complex Critical National Infrastructure projects within a regulated National Grid environment. As the senior authority for engineering assurance, the role ensures all technical solutions align with design intent, statutory and industry standards, and client governance from concept and tender through delivery, commissioning and handover.
The role provides clear technical direction, resolves complex engineering challenges, and ensures robust documentation, assurance evidence and change control across the project lifecycle. Championing a proactive safety, quality and compliance culture, the role embeds right-first-time engineering, continuous improvement and consistent standards.
Strong stakeholder engagement with clients, partners and regulators ensures transparency, confidence in delivery, high operational performance and customer satisfaction.
You will bring extensive experience managing technical delivery within construction, utilities or engineering project environments, with deep knowledge of engineering design principles, networking or infrastructure systems, and construction methodologies. You will have proven leadership experience overseeing engineering or multidisciplinary teams, alongside strong capability in risk management, governance, quality assurance and safety compliance.
You will demonstrate success delivering complex technical projects on time, within budget and to required standards, with excellent communication, stakeholder management and decision-making skills. Experience in Critical National Infrastructure, design assurance, regulatory engagement or technical governance is advantageous.
