Where will you be working?

As an organisation, there is little we don’t do and plenty to get involved in. Our Group Support roles are vital in making sure we can help over 11,000 people deliver essential infrastructure seamlessly across water, energy, transport and telecom. This role is in our Plant and Fleet department, which supports teams across our business with their vehicle, plant and specialist equipment needs, offering hire solutions that are commercially effective, reliable, safe and compliant.

What will you be doing?

  • Lead the workshop team to maximise productivity and performance across Plant & Fleet, overseeing breakdowns, off-hire checks, and on-hire preparations.
  • Manage day-to-day workshop activity, supervise absence, and uphold high H&S standards, ensuring a safe, organised environment.
  • Raise purchase orders for cost-effective, quality solutions, and drive asset availability by maintaining low VOR across departments.
  • Communicate business updates and technical Toolbox Talks to keep teams informed and engaged.
  • Use KPI metrics to monitor and improve workshop efficiency and results.

What you’ll bring

Proven experience as a Senior Engineer or Workshop Supervisor, developed through hands-on work with LCVs, HGVs, or Plant & Equipment. You’ll hold a formal engineering qualification, preferably City & Guilds or NVQ from a recognised programme. You’re skilled in prioritising workloads, thriving under pressure, and meeting strict deadlines with keen product knowledge. You’ll demonstrate confident team leadership in a safe environment, full compliance with business procedures, and the ability to analyse data to address performance gaps and ensure high asset compliance.
