Where will you be working?

You’ll be joining our Highways maintenance team, as the UK’s number one highway maintenance contractor, our teams use the latest innovations to create effective solutions. We offer a range of services including planned and reactive maintenance and highway improvement schemes.

What you’ll be doing

  • You’ll prepare Highway Maintenance programmes in conjunction with the Depot Supervisors and Area Manager.
  • You’ll ensure all works are planned and coordinated and identify efficiency savings where appropriate.
  • We’ll ask you to liaise with Highways Maintenance officers to ensure all works order information is provided to successfully schedule the work.
  • You’ll liaise and build positive working relationships with Cambridgeshire’s Streetworks team.
  • Creating, monitoring and updating Street works permits to create compliant programmes.
  • Liaise with the delivery teams to update programmes with progress.
  • Book Traffic Management from Supply Chain. Organise Advance warning signs and letter drops.

What you’ll bring

  • Good general IT skills are essential, and ideally, you’ll be proficient in Microsoft suite of programmes.
  • Experience in effective programming of construction or maintenance works, preferably in the highway maintenance industry.
  • Great team working skills, the ability to collaborate well with others and develop excellent relationships with contacts at all levels from the client to colleagues and contacts across Milestone and M Group Services.
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written - to ensure clarity in all situations and to effectively influence client decision-making.
  • Understanding of the Traffic Management Act (Street works Noticing / Permitting).
  • Understanding of NRSWA/Safety at Street Works and Road Works: A Code of Practice.
