Where will you be working? At M Group Highways, we’re supporting the safe transportation and movement of people across the UK. We don’t just build roads and bridges - we’re building a better future, creating lasting social value that gives back to the communities in which we work. You’ll be joining our Highways team, as the UK’s number one highway maintenance contractor, our teams use the latest innovations to create effective solutions. We offer a range of services including planned and reactive maintenance and highway improvement schemes.
What will you be doing?
- Support cost and value management, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Collaborate with Operations to prepare clear and reliable quarterly forecasts.
- Identify and manage contract variations, early warnings, and compensation events.
- Ensure all work meets M Group's Infrastructure standards and commercial procedures.
- Build strong client relationships, keeping budgets and year-end targets on track.
- Oversee sub-contract procurement, monthly reconciliations, and final accounts.
- Carry out site visits and maintain progress within agreed deadlines.
- Provide flexible support with ad-hoc commercial duties as needed.
What you’ll bring:
- Degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or related construction field preferred, not essential.
- Proven commercial experience in the construction industry.
- Effective negotiator and communicator.
- Good organisational and people skills.
- Highways and civil engineering experience (preferably with contractors).
- Knowledge of NEC contracts.
- IT proficient.
