Where will you be working?
At M Group Energy, we're enabling the energy essential to support our lives. We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation. This role will be within our Transmission & Renewables team. We design, build and commission substations at voltages up to and including 400kV. Our teams construct and maintain transmission lines and substations, ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of electricity. This role offers a hybrid arrangement, covering projects across the South Wales area from Newport across to Pembroke. There may also be a requirement to cover projects in South West England so willingness to travel is a must!
What will you be doing?
As an M&E Project Engineer, you'll be a key part in coordinating the execution of projects for M Group on behalf of National Grid. Do you have a positive & collaborative attitude with the ability to build and maintain relationships, both with clients and colleagues? You'll work closely with the Project Manager, Site Managers & Planners to ensure timely submission of programme updates to the client. You'll coordinate design teams through the client design verification and assurance process, ensuring contractual key dates are met.
- Drive the successful delivery of these projects by coordinating design, build, and programme management from concept to completion.
- Support suppliers and subcontractors with FATs and key coordination meetings.
- Oversee programme development and updates, and manage handover documentation, including Health & Safety files and as-built drawings.
- Act as a central point of collaboration, attending critical meetings to keep projects on track and exceed client expectations.

- Previous experience working on National Grid substation works in a Mechanical / Electrical capacity.
- Ability to manage own workload, work autonomously with pace & attention to detail.

- Good computer literacy, with strong knowledge of Microsoft 365.
- Full UK driving licence.
