Where will you be working?
M Group Highways
At M Group Highways, we’re supporting the safe transportation and movement of people across the UK. We don’t just build roads and bridges - we’re building a better future, creating lasting social value that gives back to the communities in which we work. You’ll be joining our Highways maintenance team, as the UK’s number one highway maintenance contractor, our teams use the latest innovations to create effective solutions. We offer a range of services including planned and reactive maintenance and highway improvement schemes.
What will you be doing?
This 18-month programme will develop your practical, technical and soft skills, with Health & Safety at the heart of everything you do. On successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will gain a Highways Maintenance Skilled Operative Level 2 qualification and a permanent, long-term career with M Group Highways!
- Highways Maintenance (e.g. pothole repairs, grass cutting, winter gritting services)
- Providing traffic management for a diversity of projects.
- Working as part of our multi-disciplined teams to deliver innovative solutions to highways maintenance.
- Depending on your location you may be required to travel to college on block release with fellow apprentices and stay in a hotel for your relaxation time.
What you’ll bring:
- Willingness to learn new skills and work as part of a team.
- Physical fitness and willingness to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Functional Skills requirements equivalent to Maths and English GCSE at grade E or above. If you do not currently have these qualifications, the training provider will help you achieve them as part of the apprenticeship.
- The Right to Work in the UK (you must have lived in the UK for 3+ years)
- Valid UK driving licence (or be on track to achieve this within a year)
