Where will you be working? At M Group Telecom, we’re enabling and enhancing telecom networks, playing a lead role in the delivery of our tech enabled future. We deliver full network cycle services for fixed, private and mobile operators. This role will be within our Fixed networks team, you’ll join our people who support providing turnkey solutions for the surveying, designing, building and commissioning new networks, while supporting the repair, maintenance and operation of existing networks.

What will you be doing? We are looking for someone who understands fibre networks and knows how to survey them safely and accurately. You will be working across Scotland, helping us plan where fibre cables should go. You will need to hold, as a minimum, an S11 and S13 accreditation. This is important for the work we do with Openreach and other network providers. You will be out on site most days. You will look at maps, check routes, and make notes about what you see. You will help us decide the best way to install fibre. You will also spot any problems and suggest ways to fix them. You will work with other teams to make sure everything runs smoothly.

You will need to be confident using a tablet or laptop. You will also need to understand how to read plans and drawings. You will be given training and support to help you do your job well. You will be expected to follow safety rules and help keep others safe too. This is a full-time role. You will be given a van and the tools you need. You may need to travel and stay away from home sometimes. You will be part of a team that is helping to improve broadband for homes and businesses.

What you’ll bring; To succeed in this role, you’ll need to bring a solid foundation of technical knowledge and practical experience in fibre surveying. You must hold valid S11 and S13 certifications, which demonstrate your understanding of safe working practices and your ability to operate effectively within the scope of street works and fibre infrastructure environments. These qualifications are essential for ensuring compliance with industry standards and for maintaining the safety and integrity of the work you’ll be undertaking.

A full UK driving licence is mandatory, as the role involves regular travel to various sites across the region. Your ability to navigate between locations efficiently and independently is key to maintaining project timelines and supporting field operations. We’re looking for someone who is not only technically capable but also proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality work. Your experience should reflect a strong understanding of fibre networks, surveying techniques, and the ability to interpret and record data accurately. You’ll be expected to work collaboratively with field teams, contractors, and project managers, so clear communication and a professional approach are vital.
