Where will you be working? At M Group Energy, we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives. We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation. This role will be within our Metering team, you’ll join the leading provider of metering services in the UK energy retail sector, providing efficient and flexible services for gas, electricity and water meters. Our meter readers install, maintain and manage meters to ensure customers are billed correctly and energy usage patterns are monitored.
What will you be doing? You’ll investigate, detect, and prevent gas and electricity theft in residential and commercial properties. You’ll be responsible for making sure installations are made safe and will work with the supplier to agree what further action is to be taken. You’ll collect evidence and provide information to the client to decide next steps. You’ll be involved in debt recovery work; this may include carrying out metering tasks such as installing a SMART meter or de-energising/disconnecting the supply.

You’ll get full training on revenue protection and conflict management.
What you’ll bring:
- Valid UK driving licence - You must have a full UK licence and have less than 6 points.
- For Dual Fuel applicants: CCN1 / CMA1 / CMA3 with MET1 and MOCOPA
- For Electric-only applicants: MOCOPA (Single-Phase or Three-Phase) / NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation / City & Guilds 2365/2330/2357 / or Smart Metering (Electricity) Level 2
- Strong customer service background with the ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
- Nice to have (but not essential): 3-phase qualification / CT / Medium Pressure

- Single fuel - £36,431 per annum
- Single fuel (3 phase/CT) - £37,515 per annum
- Candidates joining on a single fuel basis will be required to upskill to dual fuel, upskill training will be provided by the company. The salaries stated above apply during the initial training period, and upon full qualification at the dual fuel level, will increase to £42,285
