This role will be within our water and wastewater capital project delivery team. Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.

  • Undertake setting out and surveying activities for clean water trunk main installations and associated infrastructure.
  • Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Manage and monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with design requirements and Thames Water standards.
  • Coordinate trenching, pipe laying, thrust boring, directional drilling, valve installations, washouts, air valves, and associated civil works.
  • Review and resolve site engineering issues in collaboration with design teams and project management.
  • Support commissioning, pressure testing, chlorination, sampling, and network integration activities.
  • Ensure all works meet Thames Water quality standards and project specifications.
  • Maintain accurate site records, quality documentation, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and as-built information.
  • Ensure works are carried out in accordance with CDM Regulations, Water Industry standards, and site-specific risk assessments.
  • Review and implement RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements).
  • Ensure environmental controls are maintained to minimise impacts on customers, watercourses, and local communities.

What you’ll bring:

  • HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience delivering water infrastructure projects, preferably clean water trunk mains.
  • Knowledge of water industry standards and utility construction practices.
  • Experience with setting out equipment, surveying techniques, and interpretation of engineering drawings.
  • Understanding of pressure testing, chlorination, and commissioning processes.
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • CSCS Card.
  • SMSTS or SSSTS.
  • NRSWA Supervisor (desirable).
  • First Aid at Work (desirable).
  • EUSR Water Hygiene Card.
  • Temporary Works Co-Ordinator (desirable).
