As our CAD Technician you'll join our team supporting the Anglian Water contract from our brand-new Colchester office. Working within the Design Team, you'll produce accurate 2D drawings and 3D models that support civil, structural, and mechanical designs across a variety of water infrastructure projects, helping to deliver safe, compliant, and high-quality design solutions.

Using AutoCAD and related software, you'll create, amend, and maintain technical drawings and models, including pipework, duct routes, and civil layouts. You'll interpret engineering specifications, incorporate supplier and installation information, and ensure all outputs meet relevant standards, project timescales, budgets, and quality requirements.

Working closely with engineers and project teams, you'll support design reviews, maintain drawing registers and revision control processes, and contribute to health and safety documentation, including risk assessments. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment where you can play a key role in delivering safe, efficient, and sustainable water infrastructure projects.

What you’ll bring:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Experience producing engineering drawings for civil, mechanical, or water infrastructure projects
  • Strong ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings
  • Understanding of quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001)
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Experience in water sector projects
  • Knowledge of CDM regulations and health & safety principles
  • Experience in Navisworks, Revit or Plant3D
  • Relevant diploma or qualification in Civil, Mechanical, or related discipline
