Private networks - We find the best technology, manage assets and refresh systems. With 24/7 network operations, we keep things running smoothly while operating comprehensive network repair and maintenance to keep everything in top shape.

You’ll take ownership of the commercial and operational management of our subcontract supply chain, ensuring partners are onboarded effectively, governed robustly, and deliver safely, compliantly, and to agreed cost and performance expectations. Working closely with Operations, Commercial, SHEQ, Finance and Planning teams, you’ll ensure subcontractors are fully mobilised, commercially controlled, and set up for right-first-time delivery.

We’ll rely on you to provide strong cost assurance, performance grip, and early identification of risk, giving the business confidence in delivery at scale. You’ll lead the end-to-end onboarding and mobilisation of subcontractors, ensuring compliance, competence, systems access and operational readiness are in place before work starts.

In life, you’ll manage performance against KPIs such as quality, productivity, safety, SLA achievement and cost, leading structured reviews and driving recovery plans where performance falls short. From a commercial perspective, you’ll control subcontractor costs, validate applications and invoices against delivery and evidence, challenge discrepancies, and prevent cost leakage.

You’ll also act as the governance lead for subcontractor compliance, competence and assurance, supporting audits, maintaining accreditations, and embedding continuous improvement across the supply chain. Building strong but challenging relationships with partners, you’ll balance collaboration with accountability to protect customer outcomes and operational performance.

However, you must be willing to travel to St Ives, Cambridge for meetings on an occasional basis.

Proven experience managing partners, suppliers or subcontractors within a field engineering, maintenance, utilities, telecoms or regulated services environment, where you’ll understand the pressures of live delivery.

A strong grasp of operational performance measures, and you’ll know how to turn insight and data into clear improvement actions that protect service and cost.

Experience coordinating subcontractor onboarding and mobilisation across people, process, systems and compliance, and we’ll rely on you to ensure partners are ready to deliver from day one.

The confidence to influence, challenge and hold partners and internal stakeholders to account, with you balancing collaboration and commercial discipline even without direct line authority.

Strong commercial awareness, with experience supporting cost control, rate governance, invoice validation or subcontractor cost assurance; we’ll look to you to prevent cost leakage.

A structured, organised and data-driven approach, where you’ll be comfortable managing multiple partners, priorities and risks simultaneously.
