Where you’ll be working?
We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure. This role will be within our clean water team that safeguards the quality, reliability, and performance of drinking water across our region. We work across complex network systems, enhancing, maintaining, installing, and repairing infrastructure from pipes to water meters, to ensure consistently high-water quality. Through proactive network management and resilient engineering, we help ensure communities have safe, dependable water supplies every day.
What you’ll be doing?
- You’ll perform labouring duties as part of a team on the water network, including excavation, pipe laying, and backfilling whilst ensuring all work is carried out to the highest standards of safety and quality, adhering to all company and client protocols.
- You’ll work collaboratively with colleagues, supervisors, and other contractors to complete projects efficiently and maintain a clean and organised worksite, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored.
- You’ll serve as a professional and approachable representative of Welsh Water, providing clear and courteous communication to customers and the public.
- You’ll need to respond to and resolve customer queries or concerns on-site with a positive and helpful attitude and adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations, including those specific to the water and utility industries.
- You’ll need to be willing to undertake further training and development to advance your skills and career.
What you’ll bring?
- Proven experience working as a labourer in the water industry, with direct experience on the water network. Alternatively, experience within the broader utility industry will be highly regarded.
- Valid StreetWorks ticket (NRSWA).
- Valid Water Hygiene certificate.
- Valid UK driving license (desirable).
