Where will you be working?
At M Group Highways, we’re supporting the safe transportation and movement of people across the UK. You’ll be joining our Highways maintenance team, as the UK’s number one highway maintenance contractor, our teams use the latest innovations to create effective solutions. We offer a range of services including planned and reactive maintenance and highway improvement schemes.
What you’ll be doing
- You will be required to read and understand Basic and Intermediate level lift plans and to take instructions from appointed persons and lifting supervisors in the slinging of a wide variety of loads using a wide variety of lifting equipment and giving clear signalling to lifting equipment operators.
- You will be required to be experienced in lifting accessory identification, selection, and pre/post use inspections.
- You will have a good understanding of construction health and safety on site and have a clear understanding of the effects of good health and safety practices for yourself and for others working with you and around you.
- You will be punctual and arrive on time, finish your shifts at times allocated by site management and be willing to complete additional duties as and when the site manager requires.
What you’ll bring
- Previous experience as a Slinger Signaller (minimum 1 year) with CPCS Blue Card Level 2 or NPORS equivalent.
- Strong team player with a good work ethic, able to follow instructions and support wider duties at Hinkley Point C.
- Licences for telehandler, 360 telehandler, excavator, Manitou 360 slew, or tractor (CPCS/NPORS) beneficial.
- Full clean driving licence required.
- High manual dexterity using hand tools and ability to work outdoors in all weather on uneven ground.
