Whatever stage you're at in your career, with us you'll have an opportunity to grow and develop. This is a hybrid role with 2 days a week in our HQ located in Cobalt Business Park. As our Senior Bid Writer, you'll take the lead on strategic bids that help us win the work that powers essential infrastructure across the UK. This isn't just a writing role; it's a chance to shape solutions, bring clarity to complex ideas and influence key decisions at a high level.
You’ll set the standard for written quality, guide our bid writers through mentoring and coaching, and work closely with teams across metering, EV, gas, renewables, transmission and distribution. From storyboarding and strategy sessions to developing compelling written and visual content, you’ll play a central role in creating submissions that score highly and stand out for all the right reasons. If you love bringing people together, turning ideas into confident narratives and helping teams deliver their best work, this is the role for you.
- Team Management: Lead and support a team of bid writers, allocating resources across a range of tenders. Embed best-practice bid writing standards and drive continuous improvement.
- Bid Leadership: Own bid responses end-to-end, shaping solutions and crafting high-scoring content. Facilitate planning/storyboarding workshops and steer bid strategy.
- Content Development & Collaboration: Produce clear, visually engaging, client-focused responses.
What you'll bring:
- 5 years delivering major tenders/frameworks in a fast-paced environment
- Experience mentoring and supporting others
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder-influencing skills
- Exceptional writing ability able to simplify complexity and structure compelling content
- Advanced MS Word and strong MS Office skills; InDesign desirable
- APMP Foundation/Practitioner preferred
- Ability to travel when required
