Where will you be working?
At M Group Highways, we’re supporting the safe transportation and movement of people across the UK. You’ll be joining our Highways maintenance team, as the UK’s number one highway maintenance contractor, our teams use the latest innovations to create effective solutions. We offer a range of services including planned and reactive maintenance and highway improvement schemes.
What will you be doing?
You’ll be accountable for the coordination of strategic bids (particularly larger TMC and significant Project Sector bids), including bid programme, quality submission and priced submission. Whilst carrying out hands-on bid writing duties and ownership of questions from storyboard through to final submission. You’ll collaborate with and influence the bid team to establish common and specific win themes, differentiators and effective tender strategies. You’ll work alongside the Bid Director to manage bid teams. Inputs from key stakeholders, typically engaging with business development, estimating, writing, commercial and operational teams. In collaboration with the bid core team you’ll develop a detailed bid programme. With critical path and owners identified, ensuring programme is tracked and monitored on a weekly basis. We’ll ask you to co-ordinate and plan all client presentations and negotiation preparation required as part of the bid submission. You’ll be delivering prequalification and bid submissions, workshops and bid writing activities. You’ll be the direct lead of a team of writers, providing coaching, development and guidance.
What you’ll bring
- Excellent IT skills, particularly significant experience in using Microsoft Word.
- Thorough knowledge of work winning procedures and processes including reviews.
- At least 5 years working on multi-million-pound construction submissions.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, demonstrating ability to form persuasive text in a concise format.
- Strong research capability and ability to summarise extensive information in salient points.
- Project/Programme Management qualification desirable or demonstrable experience of managing significant projects/programmes with multidisciplinary teams.
- Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
