Where will you be working?
We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure. A role has become available in the Water Division at MGroup Ltd. This position sits within the finance team.
What will you be doing?
The role focuses on delivering accurate, well-organised finance support, with a calm and friendly approach. There is a strong emphasis on clear processes, with plenty of opportunity to learn and develop. Day-to-day, this role supports core finance activity, including processing supplier invoices in Sage, matching them to purchase orders in ZTA, reconciling statements, and helping ensure supplier payments are made on time. New suppliers are set up carefully and accurately. Support is also provided across the business, offering guidance on purchase processes and helping teams use purchase orders correctly. Processes are reviewed regularly, with a focus on keeping things simple and consistent. The role includes assisting with payroll, such as monitoring timesheet approvals to make sure everything is ready for processing, as well as supporting accruals work including GRNI and vehicle costs. There’s a collaborative element too—supporting colleagues during busy periods, helping manage the supplier inbox, maintaining spreadsheets, reviewing some control accounts, and assisting with ONS surveys when needed. This role would suit someone who enjoys structured work, takes pride in accuracy, and communicates well with others. Experience with Sage is helpful.
What you'll bring
- A solid foundation in finance and a positive, supportive approach to their work.
- AAT Level 2 (or above)
- Comfortable using spreadsheets, databases, and MS Office
- Experience with finance systems
