Where will you be working?
We help our clients safeguard water supply, improve environmental performance, and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. With over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure, we are problem solvers.
This role will be within our MEICA and capital maintenance team. Our Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation (MEICA) experts offer comprehensive solutions, including ongoing operation and maintenance services.
This role will be within our IOS Framework for Anglian Water, supporting operations and completing remedial works over the Essex, Suffolk, and Cambridge areas.

As the apprentice, you will learn to:
- Work in compliance with industry, British, International, and customer standards.
- Read, understand, and interpret relevant drawings, schedules, and schematics.
- Order and collect the correct components for work activities.
- Complete risk assessments, identify, and report potential hazards and near misses.
- Test and inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components.
- Diagnose and solve malfunctioning systems using test equipment and hand tools.
- Produce detailed reports of work completed in line with industry and company requirements.
- Respond promptly to faults and rectify where possible.
- Champion health and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment.
What you’ll bring
- Be at least 18 years of age at the start of the apprenticeship.
- Valid UK driving licence.
- Right to work in the UK.
- GCSEs grades 4-9 including maths and English, or Level 2 Functional Skills Equivalent.
- Ability to travel daily to your depot or work site, potentially at unsocial hours.
- Willingness to undertake day or block release training and development sessions.
- Interest and enthusiasm to work outdoors.
- High manual dexterity demonstrated through the use of hand tools.
- Physical fitness to perform manual tasks safely, including lifting, bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work within a confined space without restriction.
- Effective communication skills.
- Keen to learn, develop, and progress.
- Passionate about the industry.
- Hardworking, reliable, with excellent attendance and timekeeping.
- Ability to use own initiative and a \’can do\’ attitude.
