Where will you be working? Our Rail team manages a wide range of specialist rail engineering works and projects delivering civils, power, building services and electrical solutions. We are looking for an experienced Principal Estimator to join our Rail team, managing our main estimation activities, with a team of 3-4 Estimators. There will be an element of leadership within the role, but the predominant function of the role is the day-to-day management of larger estimating projects.
What will you be doing?
- You will join a diverse, growing team of Estimators, Cost Managers and Commercial Managers, and other related professionals.
- You will produce documentation for tenders that contain sufficient provision for meeting applicable legislation and recognised industry standards on health, safety, quality and environment.
- Lead on tenders.
- Analyse quotations and ensure pricing reflects the requirements, pricing and researching alternative designs, materials and methods.
- Managing tender risk and opportunity schedule and attend bid and tender reviews and adjudication.
What you’ll bring:
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge, ability and experience around Estimating/Cost and Commercial competencies required by relevant professional institutions.
- Ability to challenge when needed.
- Working knowledge/experience of NEC Contracts, other industry standard contract forms and/or bespoke forms of contract.
- Able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Hold a construction or engineering related qualification to min HNC level.
