Where will you be working? At M Group Telecom, we’re enabling and enhancing telecom networks, playing a lead role in the delivery of our tech enabled future. We deliver full network cycle services for fixed, private and mobile operators. This role will be within our Fixed networks team, you’ll join our people who support providing turnkey solutions for the surveying, designing, building and commissioning new networks, while supporting the repair, maintenance and operation of existing networks.
What will you be doing? We’re looking for someone who enjoys working outdoors in all kinds of conditions. You’ll be part of a team that surveys underground telecoms networks. Every day is different, and you’ll be out in the field, not stuck behind a desk. You’ll need to keep clear records of your work. This includes daily logs, maps, and data updates. You’ll also help keep our network maps up to date. Health and safety are important to us. You’ll follow our rules and help keep yourself and others safe. We’ll also expect you to meet our quality and environmental standards. You’ll be the face of our company when you’re out and about. That means being polite, helpful, and professional with everyone you meet. If you know the BT network, that’s great. If not, don’t worry we’ll train you. You might be asked to take on other tasks from time to time. We’ll always make sure it’s something you can do. What you’ll bring: You’re someone who works well at night and doesn’t mind being away from home during the week. You’re based in East Anglia and can travel across the UK. You hold a full UK driving licence and feel confident working outdoors in all weather. You’re happy to work as part of a two-person team and take pride in setting up safe work sites. You understand the importance of doing things right. You can follow safety rules and quality standards without cutting corners. You’re good at spotting problems and thinking through the best way to fix them. You’re careful with details and know how to record what you see clearly and accurately. You’ll be helping to check the condition of manholes on the Openreach network. That means setting up the site, pumping out water, and supporting your teammate while they carry out the survey. You’ll take photos, measure the space, and check for any damage. Your work helps keep the network safe and working well. If you haven’t done this kind of work before, that’s okay. We’ll give you the training you need, including how to work in confined spaces and how to manage traffic safely.
