You’ll be joining ourHighways maintenanceteam, as the UK’s number one highway maintenance contractor, our teams use the latest innovations to create effective solutions. We offer a range of services including planned and reactive maintenance and highway improvement schemes.
This role will be based out of our Deddingtondepot, with training starting in late September/October time.

What will you be doing?
You\’ll operate gritting vehicles to treat designated routes with salt/grit. Carrying out pre-treatment and post-treatment of roads in line with weather forecasts and instructions.
We\’ll ask you to complete vehicle safety checks and ensure equipment is in good working order. Accurately follow route maps and instructions using in-vehicle technology or manual logs.
The role will include maintaining clear and accurate records of work completed, materials used, and any incidents. Reporting any road hazards, vehicle faults, or operational issues to supervisors promptly.
We\’ll require you to work flexibly, including nights, weekends, and public holidays, often at short notice.
Adhere to all health and safety procedures, including the use of PPE and safe driving practices.
What you’ll bring
- Full UK Driving Licence(Category C or CE Essential).
- Experience driving large vehicles or operating plant/machinery.
- Ability to work unsociable hours and respond to call-outs at short notice.
- Good understanding of road safety and vehicle operation in winter conditions.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
