Where will you be working? M Group Energy. At M Group Energy, we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives. We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation. This role will be within our Electricity Transmission team. We design, build and commission substations at voltages up to and including 400kV. Our teams construct and maintain transmission lines and substations, ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of electricity. You’ll be working on projects across the South West / South Wales – a full driving license is essential!
What will you be doing? As an M&E Project Engineer, you'll work with National Grid on replacing capital equipment and building new substations. Our clients are electrical transmission companies with diverse operations in infrastructure project development, EPC Projects, and refurbishment of existing infrastructure. You’ll be expected to manage multiple mechanical and electrical engineering disciplines, including instrumentation systems, telecommunications, quality assurance and control processes, and health and safety. Do you have experience coordinating the execution of projects, ensuring effective integration and management of the project design and delivery process? Are you able to coordinate project programme development with Site Managers and Project Planners, ensuring regular programme updates to the client? You’ll raise and manage technical queries, manage the project procurement schedule, attend project sites to support the delivery team and assist them with the procurement of materials.
What you’ll bring: Previous electrical engineering experience gained within the Electrical Transmission or Distribution sector is essential! Extensive relevant work experience in construction management and delivering capital projects. Ability to develop and work within collaborative client relationships. Strong presentation skills and confidence to chair meetings. Good relationship management skills. A sound knowledge of IT skills, Microsoft Office products and SharePoint. Experience of National Grid projects would be desirable, but not essential!
