Where will you be working? As an organisation, there is little we don’t do and plenty to get involved in. Our Group Support roles are vital in making sure we can help over 11,000 people deliver essential infrastructure seamlessly across water, energy, transport and telecom. This role is in our Plant & Fleet department, our Plant & Fleet supports teams across our business with their vehicle, plant and specialist equipment needs, offering hire solutions that are commercially effective, reliable, safe and compliant.

What will you be doing? We're looking for a dynamic fleet management professional who thrives on strategy, efficiency, and collaboration. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in optimising vehicle utilisation, reducing costs, and ensuring smooth operations across our fleet. You’ll play a key role in developing and implementing strategies that enhance efficiency, using data analytics and fleet management systems to drive improvements. Your insights will support detailed reporting on fleet operations, budgeting, and performance analysis, ensuring that decision-making is informed and impactful.

Day to day, you’ll oversee fleet performance, tracking maintenance schedules, mileage, fuel consumption, and billing to keep operations running smoothly. You’ll also support month-end financial processes by analysing movements in P&L values to provide clarity and accuracy. Working closely with procurement, you’ll manage the ordering and delivery tracking of new vehicles, ensuring funding is cleared at disposal. You’ll also liaise with external funders to maintain accurate financial records throughout the lifecycle of agreements, making strategic recommendations when contracts come to an end. You’ll collaborate with lease customers, guiding them through account reviews and advising on renewal, extension, or de-fleeting strategies. Your expertise will also be critical in assessing vehicles that are beyond economical repair, advising on condition and helping to avoid major maintenance costs—while maximising proceeds through smart disposal recommendations. Additionally, you’ll take charge of telematics operations, helping to shape and develop M Group’s telematics strategy to enhance fleet efficiency and performance.
