Where will you be working?
We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance, and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. With over 140 years of combined experience, we are problem solvers in engineering and infrastructure.
This role will be within our MEICA and capital maintenance team. Our Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation (MEICA) experts offer comprehensive solutions, including ongoing operation and maintenance services.
What will you be doing?
You will be part of a site-based team managing a team of C&I Technicians and Electricians. Your responsibilities will include carrying out critical maintenance of electrical and instrumentation assets, such as:
- Interpreting electrical schematics, manuals, asset standards, and technical documents to assist with installations and corrective maintenance.
- Working according to company and customer safety systems and permit to work procedures.
- Inspecting and maintaining site switchgear, UPS systems, lighting, and power systems.
- Maintaining electrical actuators (e.g., Rotork).
- Fault finding on low voltage equipment.
- Experience with industrial DCS/SCADA systems like Profibus PA and DP, with the ability to interpret, diagnose, and rectify logic in Ladder and Function Block formats (ABB, Siemens, Allen Bradley).
- Instrumentation experience including temperature, level (Radar and Capacitance), flow, and switches.
- Inspecting and calibrating H2S sample points and monitors.
- Updating software/firmware.
- Saving PLC program files.
What’s essential?
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Maintenance or Installations.
- 18th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
- Experience in the water sector.
- Valid UK driving license.
- NVQ Level 3 in Controls and Instrumentation.
- Understanding of instrumentation calibration processes.
- Knowledge of/exposure to Compex/ATEX is advantageous but not essential.
