Where will you be working?
At M Group Energy we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives. We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation. As one of the largest Independent Connection Providers (ICPs) in the UK, we support distribution network operations across infrastructure. Our team installs and maintains distribution networks and ensures reliable connections for customers, carrying out electrical planned work, customer connections and network reinforcement.
What will you be doing?
You’ll be working on our UK Power Networks and SSEN contracts in Hertfordshire and surrounding counties. You’ll play a vital part in our Substation Build Team, delivering capital programme works on UKPN’s and SSEN’s 11kV to 132kV Distribution Network. Refurbishing and building new switchhouses and transformer enclosures. In this role you’ll be involved with the installation of ancillary and control equipment associated with the installation of High Voltage equipment. Interpreting and using electrical schematics, manuals, asset standards, and other technical documents to assist installations and corrective maintenance tasks. Working to the company and customer safe systems of work and permit to work systems. Installing Control & protection equipment, Earthing Systems, Bus Bars, Disconnectors and Switchgear. Maintaining High Voltage equipment. Fault Finding on Low and High Voltage equipment. Supervising the movement of long objects in an open bar compound. Installing & terminating multicores, Installing ladder & tray work, conduit & trucking installations, control and SCADA installations.
What you’ll bring:
- NVQ Level 3 in an Electrical discipline or completed an approved Apprenticeship
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations training certification
- A full drivers license
- Experience in Industrial Electrical & Control System Asset Installation
