About The Role
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Industrial Cleaning Operative to join our team. This is a vital role in ensuring that waste management processes are carried out efficiently and safely in compliance with environmental regulations. You will be responsible for handling, sorting, and disposing of industrial waste, contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable workplace.
Core Responsibilities
- Collection of waste samples from tankers – mainly sewage and industrial waste
- Sanitisation and cleaning of waste tankers
- Willingness to work in confined spaces, mainly to clean industrial tanks
- Operation of pressure washer to clean surfaces (mainly industrial)
- Working with specialist equipment to clear a range of industrial material (cement, animal feed, sand, powder, sewage, etc.)
- Assists Transport Drivers with all aspect of a job assignments with the exception of the operation of the lorry
- Aid in to clearing blockages on industrial sites
- Operation of forklifts and telehandlers – training will be provided
- Transportation of goods from a designated pick-up location to a drop-off location both locally and nationally and in addition towing an accompanying trailer
- Ensure security of a load whilst on the road
- Performs various physical duties as assigned
- Moves, secures, installs, builds, loads, or unloads materials
- Performs some specialized tasks which may require on-the job training
- Effectively using heavy and light equipment, depending on the jobsite/assignment
- Maintain all safety standards at all times
- Perform drain cleaning and unblocking services using high-pressure water jetting, mechanical rodding, and other specialized tools.
- Provide emergency response services to address urgent out of hour jobs.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and other vehicles with materials and equipment utilising a forklift/ telehandler and manual methods
- Assist customers visiting site and provide excellent customer service.
- Organize and maintain the yard, ensuring materials and equipment are stored properly and safely.
- Report any maintenance or safety issues when working in the yard and on customer sites.
- Perform general maintenance tasks such as sweeping, cleaning, and minor repairs
- Sort and process recyclable materials, ensuring proper separation and handling.
- Complete and issue work permits
- Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks in industrial settings, including machinery, tanks, pipes, and production areas.
- Maintain specialized cleaning equipment, such as high-pressure water jetters and other industrial cleaning machinery.
- Assist with emergency response situations, including spills, confined space rescue and other incidents requiring immediate attention.
Requirements
- Willingness to work in confined spaces, mainly to clean industrial tanks
- Ability to operate machinery and handle industrial waste safely -training will be provided if required.
- Previous experience in waste management or a similar role (preferred but not essential).
- Knowledge of waste disposal and recycling processes (preferred but not essential).
- Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.
- Physical fitness and ability to work in an industrial environment.
- A proactive and responsible approach to work.
- A valid forklift or heavy machinery license (desirable but not required).
