Technical Service Technician

Location: Exeter, PA
Pay: $21-$23

Position Overview

M Force Partners is seeking a hands-on Technical Service Technician to support the repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and service of industrial equipment and tools. This position combines mechanical and electrical troubleshooting with customer service, equipment repair, preventative maintenance, and field service responsibilities.

The ideal Technical Service Technician has strong mechanical aptitude and experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems. This individual should be comfortable working with industrial electrical systems ranging from 24V DC through 480V three-phase AC and using diagnostic equipment such as multimeters to identify and resolve equipment issues.

The Technical Service Technician will work both in a service shop environment and at customer locations, providing technical support locally and throughout the United States. Candidates must be comfortable traveling up to 50%, including occasional overnight and air travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial tools, machines, and related equipment
  • Perform electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems including 480V and 240V three-phase AC, 120V single-phase AC, and 24V DC systems
  • Use multimeters and other diagnostic tools to identify electrical and equipment issues
  • Conduct preventative maintenance, equipment inspections, and performance evaluations
  • Respond to customer troubleshooting calls and provide technical support
  • Perform equipment service, troubleshooting, and repair at customer locations
  • Travel locally and nationally to support customer service requirements
  • Set up, test, and inspect new equipment before shipment to customers
  • Log, inspect, evaluate, and test tools and equipment returned for repair
  • Prepare repair estimates and complete repairs within established timelines
  • Analyze equipment performance and recommend potential improvements
  • Assist customers with replacement parts selection, ordering, and pricing
  • Pull and prepare parts and equipment orders for shipment
  • Verify incoming parts shipments and maintain organized inventory
  • Assemble new tool kits and prepare equipment for customer orders
  • Provide equipment and tool training to customers and internal team members
  • Support sales and customer service teams with technical equipment recommendations for specific applications
  • Maintain accurate service and repair documentation
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Follow established safety procedures and operational guidelines
  • Maintain professional communication when interacting with customers and internal team members

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on technical troubleshooting ability
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical diagrams
  • Experience using and reading a multimeter
  • Understanding of industrial electrical systems
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills
  • Good computer skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%, including local and national travel
  • Ability to accommodate occasional overnight stays and air travel
  • Ability to work independently at customer locations and collaborate effectively with an internal service team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous industrial equipment service, repair, or maintenance experience
  • Field Service Technician or Industrial Maintenance Technician experience
  • Experience troubleshooting 480V and 240V three-phase AC electrical systems
  • Experience with 120V single-phase AC and 24V DC systems
  • Experience servicing industrial machinery, tools, or automated equipment
  • Experience performing preventative maintenance on industrial equipment
  • Customer-facing field service experience
  • Experience providing technical training or equipment demonstrations
  • Experience supporting parts, inventory, or equipment service operations
  • Ability and willingness to support international travel if required as the position develops
