Product Manager
Location: Exeter, RI
Pay: $115,000-$130,000
Position Overview
M Force Partners is seeking a commercially minded Product Manager to support product planning, portfolio management, sourcing coordination, and product data management for an organization serving the automotive electrical, lighting, power management, and vehicle accessories markets.
The Product Manager will work closely with Brand Managers and cross-functional teams to manage and optimize the U.S. product portfolio. Key areas of responsibility include product lifecycle management, new product introductions, portfolio optimization, product data governance, pricing and assortment analysis, market research, and product performance reporting.
The ideal Product Manager combines strong analytical and commercial skills with experience managing detailed product information across ERP, PIM, BI, or eCommerce systems. This role requires someone who can translate sales, market, customer, and product data into actionable recommendations while coordinating effectively across Sales, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Brand Managers to execute product and category strategies across the U.S. product portfolio
- Coordinate product lifecycle activities, including new product introductions, line extensions, product rationalization, and discontinuations
- Monitor product performance, sales trends, profitability, customer feedback, and market dynamics
- Identify portfolio opportunities and provide data-driven recommendations for product investments and changes
- Support assortment planning, pricing reviews, category initiatives, and other commercial activities
- Conduct competitor, category, and market research to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and potential risks
- Maintain accurate product range documentation aligned with approved product and brand strategies
- Manage the integrity, accuracy, and governance of product data across applicable systems and platforms
- Establish and maintain standards and processes for product specifications, attributes, pricing, compliance information, and marketing content
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to collect, validate, maintain, and update product information
- Ensure product data effectively supports eCommerce, Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, and customer-facing channels
- Develop reporting and dashboards to monitor portfolio performance and product data quality
- Analyze sales and performance data to support product, pricing, assortment, and portfolio decisions
- Coordinate cross-functional activities supporting successful new product launches
- Work with global product teams to align U.S. product requirements with broader product strategies
- Serve as a key resource for product-related information, analysis, and recommendations
- Maintain product documentation throughout the product lifecycle
- Ensure product information meets applicable regulatory, quality, and internal requirements
- Support audits and compliance activities related to product information and portfolio management
- Identify opportunities to improve product management, data governance, and cross-functional processes
- Stay current on relevant automotive, product management, eCommerce, and market trends
Required Qualifications
- Professional experience in product management, category management, product information management, merchandising, or a similar commercial product-focused role
- Strong understanding of product lifecycle management, including new product launches, portfolio optimization, line extensions, and product discontinuations
- Experience managing detailed product data with an emphasis on accuracy, governance, and process improvement
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales, product, customer, and market data
- Commercial understanding of pricing, assortment planning, category performance, and portfolio management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Experience working with ERP, PIM, BI, eCommerce, or similar product and business systems
- Ability to conduct market and competitor analysis and translate findings into actionable recommendations
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Ability to coordinate multiple product initiatives and priorities simultaneously
- Strong cross-functional stakeholder management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, particularly when managing product specifications and data
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Commerce, or a related field
- Experience within the automotive, automotive aftermarket, powersports, vehicle accessories, electrical, lighting, or power management industries
- Experience supporting product sourcing or working with Procurement and Supply Chain teams
- Experience with Product Information Management (PIM) systems
- Experience supporting eCommerce product catalogs and product content
- Experience developing product performance reports and dashboards
- Experience working with global product teams or international product portfolios
- Experience supporting multiple brands or product categories
