The Design Director leads his teams from trusting their abilities and wanting them to grow and be recognised in their own space.
Client interaction and gaining trust with emotional intelligence is a huge part of gaining complete confidence from a client. Overselling a pitch is aggressive and dated, but listening while being passionate about design conveys an ability to view the client’s valid suggestions.
Design is an important element with the ability to have fresh ideas and no ego. It’s a tight team and everyone at all levels collaborates and is totally hands on producing work using Revit.
If you have a portfolio of Workplace interiors with evidence of creativity incorporated, and I mean not just reception spaces with seating and hub areas but something that stands out and is a design provocation that works with the space and client budget, then you will be very interested in these roles.
You will need to have an understanding and interest in AI - it doesn’t have to be how it’s used in a corporate studio, just a desire to learn more.
