M+D are looking for an enthusiastic, confident and skilled Retail senior level interior designer to join their team. This role is ideal for someone with proven experience in commercial interiors who is ready to take on more responsibility in project delivery. You’ll work closely with associates and other team members, contributing to all stages of project development and delivery and will be expected to take initiative and lead projects independently.
Key responsibilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to develop and deliver interior Design/fit-out projects to a high standard
- Develop design concepts and prepare presentations using Adobe Creative Suite
- Research and specify materials, finishes and FF&E selection
- Take a lead role in space planning and the preparation of technical construction detail Drawing packages, and schedules with minimal supervision
- Attend client and contractor meetings, sometimes independently, and represent the studio professionally
- Coordinate with suppliers, consultants, and contractors as part of day-to-day project delivery
- Make site visits, prepare site reports, and carry out snagging
- Support and manage junior and mid-weight designers and help maintain studio
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent qualification in interior design, interior architecture or architecture
- Have a minimum eight years’ post graduate relevant experience of working on commercial projects in the UK
- Proficiency in Vectorworks, Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
- Strong space planning, technical construction drawing and detailing skills
- Confidence in producing thorough drawing packs with minimal oversight
- Co-ordinate architectural elements with building services
- Good knowledge of UK building regulations related to interior commercial fit-out projects
- A keen and proactive mindset and the ability to show initiative throughout a project’s delivery
- Experience running client or contractor meetings
- The ability to work on multiple projects and deadlines
