- Experience of direct support with people with learning disabilities and/or ASC and Challenging Behaviour.
- Experience in conducting assessments and developing, implementing and evaluating interventions for individuals presenting with behaviours that challenge.
- Experience of development and delivery of Positive Behaviour Support training.
- Experience of working as part of a peripatetic team providing consultation to challenging behaviour services.
- Experience of reducing the use of restrictive practices.
- Experience of outcome-based service delivery and the required records which evidence.
- Experience of contributing to the person-centred review process and of using a range of person-centred planning tools.
- Experience of working as part of a team.
- Experience of developing new ideas that improve peoples independence and working flexibly to achieve them.
- Educated to a related degree level.
- Have worked within the active support model or equivalent
- PBS level 4 (BTEC) or related experience
- Excellent leadership skills
- Able to lead and encourage staff through change management.
- Have related experience of working within challenging behaviour services.
- Self-directed and driven to excellence.
- Minimum of 18 months experience of supporting individuals with complex needs, particularly relating to ASD, learning disabilities and/or mental health
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Understand relevant legal frameworks relevant to role e.g. Mental Capacity Act (2005)
- Demonstrate the ability to complete behaviour assessment tools and write reports relating to behaviour to a high standard
