We are looking for an experienced and reliable Senior Automotive Technician / Mechanic to join our established team at M D Auto Care, Rabans Close, Aylesbury HP19 8RS.

A normal day will involve servicing, diagnosing, and repair work on a variety of vehicles makes and models to a high standard, ensuring customers receive safe, high-quality, and professional workmanship.

This role is suited to afully qualified technician with significant hands-on experience, who takes pride in their work and thrives in a busy workshop environment.

Our working hours are Monday-Friday 08:00-17:00 with optional overtime / Saturdays (if applicable)

Key Responsibilities

Vehicle Servicing, Diagnostics & Repairs

  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs across a wide range of vehicles
  • Complete servicing, maintenance, and mechanical repairs to a high standard
  • Ensure all work is completed efficiently, safely, and in line with quality standards

MOT & Compliance

  • Carry outMOT tests, if qualified
  • Ensure all work complies with DVSA and workshop requirements
  • Support the Service Advisor / Manager with technical input and repair recommendations
  • Assist with explaining technical work to customers when required
  • Work collaboratively with the wider workshop and front-of-house team

Workshop Standards & Operations

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
  • Use tools and equipment correctly and report any issues promptly
  • Assist with theday-to-day running of the van hire franchise, when required

Training & Development

  • Keep technical knowledge up to date with modern vehicle systems
  • Participate in training and development as required

About You

  • Minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience as a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic
  • Fully qualified in vehicle maintenance and repair
  • Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
  • High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable, professional, and committed
  • Full UK driving licence
  • MOT Tester qualification(advantage but not essential)
  • Experience working in a busy, independent garage
