We are seeking a System Administrator 1 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. As part of the SES Strategic Business Unit, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for design, implementation, operations & maintenance, and cybersecurity for large complex resilient hardware and virtualized infrastructure to ensure implemented solutions meet stakeholder needs, standards, and performance requirements.

Responsibilities

What you’ll do:

In this role, you will be working as part of a team to monitor, maintain, and test Physical Access Control, CCTV, PSIM, and other electronic security systems and support implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems supporting endpoint devices. The position provides Tier 1 helpdesk support.

Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide assistance to end users in accessing and using IT systems.
  • Answer help desk calls; triage initial calls, support, and escalate when necessary.
  • Utilize ticketing systems to document issues and troubleshooting steps.
  • Monitor enterprise system status for problems like network outages or degraded services and escalate as needed.
  • Support daily operations including log reviews and system monitoring.
  • Support configuration and management of Windows OS and related software.
  • Assist with desktop hardware setup, imaging, and antivirus updates.
  • Ensure compliance with IAVA updates, patching, and security standards such as STIGs.
  • Support installation and maintenance of third-party applications.
  • Perform root cause analysis on significant issues.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance, backups, error logs, and database checks.
  • Stay current with technological developments and recommend improvements.
  • Contribute to technical documentation and SOPs.
  • Perform duties under supervision.

Qualifications

Clearance/Citizen Type: No clearance required.

Key Requirements:

  • Education: BS degree with 0+ years experience or HS diploma with 6+ years experience.
  • Shift work required, including day, swing, and night shifts.
  • Experience in system troubleshooting, problem resolution, and system data analysis.
  • Knowledge of Windows patching, vulnerability remediation, networking, VLANs, and routing.
  • Reliable attendance at the customer site during work hours.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Minimum IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+).
  • Teamwork, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint.
