We are seeking a Senior Security Systems Engineer 3 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. As part of the SES Strategic Business Unit, you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates, and maintains electronic security services including intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio-visual, IT systems, perimeter defense, and command and control systems for federal, local, and commercial customers across high-growth markets.

Responsibilities

  • As a Senior Security Systems Engineer 3, you will be an expert in designing and deploying security solutions and technology to improve our customers' physical security posture.
  • This position requires in-depth knowledge of how to protect people and facilities by deploying both tried-and-true and cutting-edge technology.
  • You should be able to quickly understand customer needs and translate that into scalable system designs.
  • Be an expert in one or more physical security technologies: Access Control, Video Management (CCTV), Unified Systems, Intrusion Detection, Perimeter Detection, Biometrics, and Device Detection Systems.
  • Develop expertise on vendor software and hardware, establish vendor relationships, collaborate with vendor teams, and provide feedback for product improvement.
  • Understand IT environments and work with network security teams for secure deployment.
  • Collaborate with security engineers and cross-functional teams to deepen understanding of enterprise security.
  • Meet with customers to understand security needs, develop requirements, and test plans.
  • Research and evaluate technologies against requirements.
  • Become an expert in various technologies and communicate their capabilities and limitations.
  • Assess and resolve privacy, network security, and scalability concerns.
  • Write high-quality documentation for standards and operations.
  • Provide training and support for on-site deployment and administration teams.
  • Re-evaluate systems regularly and adapt to new technologies or environmental changes.
  • Serve as SME on security engineering needs, system performance, and improvements based on industry best practices.

Qualifications

  • Clearance/Citizen Type: No clearance required.

  • Key Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 5+ years of security systems experience.
  • Hands-on experience designing and deploying physical security systems.
  • Application and system administration experience, including troubleshooting, problem resolution, and system updates.
  • Reliable attendance at customer sites during work hours.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Leadership and management skills.
  • Networking experience and/or certifications.

Highly qualified candidates should demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of security manufacturers like CCURE, Genetec, Lenel, HID, Axis, FLIR, AMAG, Hirsch, MDI, Bosch, Geutebruck, and others.
  • Knowledge of operating systems used in security systems (CCURE, Lenel, Genetec).
  • Understanding of physical security design, procedures, and operations.
  • Programming/scripting skills (PowerShell, Python), systems integration, database design.
  • Knowledge of network protocols and certifications (Cisco, Juniper, Brocade).
  • Experience with deploying IoT devices securely is a plus.
  • Understanding of IT systems, OS, and server infrastructure (Microsoft, VMWare, Unix certifications).
