We are seeking a Physical Security System Administrator 1 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. As part of the SES Strategic Business Unit, you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates, and maintains electronic security services inclusive of intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, IT systems, perimeter defense, and command and control systems for federal, local, and commercial customers across high‑growth markets.
What you’ll do:
- Monitor, maintain, and test Physical Access Control, CCTV, PSIM, and other electronic security systems.
- Support implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems in support of the endpoint devices.
- Provide Tier 1 helpdesk support for a client’s physical security systems.
- Assist end users in accessing and using client Physical Security systems (CCURE, Lenel, Genetec, etc.).
- Answer Help desk phone calls; triage initial phone calls providing support and determine when escalation is required.
- Utilize technology‑based problem tracking system (i.e., ticketing system) to document helpdesk phone calls; document troubleshooting steps prior to completing ticket and or escalating to next level of support.
- Support daily operations to include monitoring and reviewing system logs.
- Perform root cause analysis on significant issues at appropriate level of support.
- Implement and maintain updates and enhancements of Security Video Management System, Security Key Management System, Security Access Control System Inventory Management System, Visitor Management System, and other systems.
- Program software for new and existing Physical Security Systems.
- Update Security System configurations as required by project.
- Deploy firmware and software updates to the Security Systems as required by project.
- Update the System Programming Standards (Naming Convention, Configurations, etc.) as required by project.
- Troubleshoot and audit physical security systems as it relates to access, monitoring, video, or other related issues.
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot clearance and physical access issues for various spaces or buildings.
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot credentials and badges for client employees.
- Be available to work various shifts such as Days, Swings, and Graveyard.
- Be available to work holidays/weekends as needed.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
Education/Experience:
- BS degree and 1+ years of progressive experience or HS Diploma or Equivalent and 6+ years of progressive experience.
- Requires some system administrator experience in performing triage on system problems, resolving system problems, analyzing system data to prevent problems, implementing new workstations, and system extensions.
- Demonstrated understanding of Windows patching and vulnerability remediation.
- Basic knowledge of large‑scale networking, VLANs, and routing.
- Requires reliable attendance at customer site during work hours required by customer.
- 1+ years troubleshooting physical security systems in an enterprise environment to include Access Control, Key Box Management, and Video surveillance systems.
- 1+ years experience in deploying or auditing physical security systems such as new site programming, new hardware additions, and validating correct system programming for building objects.
- 1+ years experience working on IT related systems such as servers, workstations, and network switches.
