Role Description

The Sous Chef will support the Head Chef in planning, preparing, and presenting dishes to a high standard for events and regular catering services. Responsibilities include overseeing daily kitchen operations, coordinating food production, ensuring food safety and hygiene, and supervising kitchen staff during service. The role involves assisting with menu development, managing stock and inventory, and maintaining equipment and workspace cleanliness. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Stockport, requiring flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and event-specific schedules.

Qualifications

• Strong culinary skills, including experience in food preparation, cooking techniques, and plating for large and small events.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene regulations, and best practices in a professional kitchen environment.
• Experience in kitchen operations, including stock control, ordering, and maintaining equipment and work areas.
• Ability to supervise and support kitchen staff, delegate tasks, and work collaboratively under time pressure.
• Good organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and consistency in quality.
• Prior experience as a Sous Chef or senior kitchen role in catering, restaurants, or similar settings is highly beneficial.
