The Sales Team Leader will be responsible for leading and managing a team of sales professionals to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of sales strategies and customer relationship management. The successful candidate will lead by example, support and motivate the sales team and develop strategies to maximize sales opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of sales representatives. Promote and encourage a positive and collaborative team environment. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Sales Strategy and Execution: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve company sales targets. Monitor and analyse sales performance data to identify areas for improvement. Conduct market research to identify new sales opportunities and potential customers.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders. Act as a primary point of contact for major clients and address any sales-related issues or inquiries. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
- Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the sales team. Stay updated on industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities. Provide guidance and support to sales representatives in their professional growth.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices. Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for sales operations. Utilize technology and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy in sales processes.
Core Responsibilities:
- Managing and developing a portfolio of existing accounts - ensuring longevity and profitability.
- Developing business and growth opportunities.
- Pro-actively identify and target new accounts.
- Preparing quotes for potential customers and processing order requests.
- Keeping customers updated with relevant product information.
- Dealing with incoming queries.
- Liaising with internal departments such as logistics, quality and procurement.
- Ensuring customer delivery dates are met.
- Supporting the delivery of customer reports.
Qualifications, Training and Experience Required:
- Previous business to business sales (B2B).
- Computer literate with knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience in the fluid sealing industry or a similar role.
- SAGE experience (not a requirement but ideal).
