The Role

Responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance and repair of plant machinery and LGV vehicles within a workshop environment, ensuring all equipment remains safe, compliant and operational.

Responsibilities

  • Service, inspect and repair plant and LGV vehicles.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults.
  • Complete preventative maintenance inspections.
  • Prepare vehicles and plant for operational deployment.
  • Complete job cards and maintenance records.
  • Maintain a clean and organised workshop.
  • Support breakdown and recovery activities.
  • Assist with refurbishment projects and major repairs.
  • Attend mandatory training and record CPD.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Call Out based on a rolling Rota
  • Technical Skills & Experience
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Experience maintaining plant machinery and/or LGVs.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.

Qualifications & Training

  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Heavy Vehicle, Plant Maintenance or Mechanical Engineering, Iretec Accredited (desirable).
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • LGV/HGV Licence desirable.
