This Level 6 Civil Engineering Degree Apprenticeship gives you the opportunity to gain a fully funded BEng (Hons) in Civil engineering through University of Warwick, while building real-world experience on projects from the outset. Your academic study will be delivered on a block release basis, alongside practical workplace learning. From day one, you’ll be part of our project teams, learning from experienced engineers and developing your skills across a range of disciplines. As your confidence grows, you’ll progress from supporting tasks to taking ownership – applying your knowledge, solving problems and contributing to the delivery of real engineering work.

As a Civil Engineering Degree Apprentice at Doocey Group, you will:

  • Gain hands‑on experience across a variety of civil engineering and utility projects
  • Contribute to the planning and coordination of works, including materials and resources
  • Support the preparation of technical drawings, documentation and reports
  • Learn to apply engineering principles, standards and regulations in a practical environment
  • Assist with health, safety and environmental compliance on site
  • Work alongside commercial and planning teams to understand project lifecycles

As your experience develops, you will:

  • Take ownership of defined tasks or project elements
  • Contribute to technical decision-making and problem solving
  • Demonstrate independent engineering input on core technical and organisational matters

What you will need:

  • Applicants must be able to reliably commute to both our Tipton office and the University of Warwick.
  • GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent)
  • You will also need one of the following:
    • AAA at A Level, including Mathematics and a Physical Science
    • BTEC Diploma in Engineering at D D, with A Level Mathematics at Grade A
    • BTEC Extended Diploma Grade DDD including two Mathematics units, Calculus to Solve Engineering Problems and Further Engineering Mathematics
  • Applicants without A Level Mathematics or the required Mathematics units within a BTEC qualification may still be considered but will be required to pass a Mathematics assessment.
