Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in the day-to-day operation of the home
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to Residential Support Workers
  • Promote and maintain high standards of care in line with Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted requirements
  • Act as a positive role model and demonstrate best practice in direct work with children and young people
  • Support care planning, risk assessments, reviews, and case management processes
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date records, reports, and documentation are maintained
  • Participate in meetings, reviews, and planning discussions relating to young people
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people at all times
  • Assist with the administration and smooth running of the home when required
  • Transport young people to school, appointments, activities, and family visits where necessary
  • Undertake sleep-in duties as part of the rota
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Previous recent experience working within a residential childcare setting
  • Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare, Children and Young People’s Workforce, NVQ Level 3 Caring for Children and Young People, or equivalent qualification
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices
  • Ability to lead by example and support the development of colleagues
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and record-keeping skills
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in challenging situations
  • Full UK driving licence preferred
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service preferred, although our client can support successful applicants through the DBS process if required
  • Genuine passion for supporting children and young people to achieve positive outcomes

Competitive hourly pay of £14.55 to £14.79 per hour, £60 payment for each sleep-in shift, paid sleep allowance included during annual leave, Cycle to Work Scheme, Employee of the Month recognition programme, Overtime Bonus Scheme, ongoing training and professional development, supportive management team, opportunities for career progression, structured 2 on, 4 off rota pattern.
