The Role
We’re looking for an experienced, target‑driven Performance Lead to cover a period of maternity leave within our Marketing team. This is a senior people management and channel ownership role, accountable for the strategy, performance and day‑to‑day output of our Paid Search and Shopping Campaigns, one of Lyst’s most important acquisition channels. You’ll own delivery against targets, manage budget and lead a team whose performance you’ll be directly responsible for. You’ll set the direction for the channel, build the roadmap in collaboration with the Performance Marketing Director and engineering teams, and be the escalation point for senior stakeholders; proactively surfacing insights, risks and recommendations. This role is well suited to someone who leads with clarity, holds a high bar for performance and knows how to get the best out of a team.
What You’ll Do
- Leadership & people management
- Lead, and develop a team setting clear expectations, giving regular feedback, to deliver key business outcomes
- Coach team members through problems and towards solutions
- Identify performance gaps within the team and put structured plans in place to address them quickly.
- Channel performance & strategy
- Maintain a solid grasp of channel and business performance
- Data‑led understanding of performance with clear, evidenced reasoning for any changes or fluctuations.
- Channel ownership
- Accountable for target delivery, budget and overall channel health
- Build and own the strategy, and channel roadmap, developed in close collaboration with the Director of Marketing
- Define milestones, KPIs and measurement frameworks for your tactics
- Own the testing roadmap, balancing short‑term performance wins against longer‑term opportunities and existing channel health
- Support and review project timelines, managing risks and dependencies across the team
- Stakeholder management & communication
- Build and maintain partnerships aligned with channel and business goals
- Act as the primary point of escalation for senior stakeholders and external partners
- Regular updates on KPIs, budget status, roadmap progress and risks
- Proactively influence strategic decision‑making at a senior level, presenting clear and well‑reasoned recommendations to leadership
- Identify data and tooling requirements and advocate for what the team needs to operate effectively
Qualifications
- Proven experience in ecommerce, leading Paid Search and Shopping in a performance‑focused environment, with a track record of hitting targets
- Strong people management skills including coaching, and developing individuals as well as teams
- A high bar for performance: target‑driven, budget‑literate and comfortable holding yourself and your team to measurable outcomes
- Solid analytical skills; you can diagnose performance issues quickly, explain them clearly, and come to the table with recommendations
- Experience owning channel strategy and roadmap development, including testing frameworks and milestone planning
- Confident presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders, with a proactive, solutions‑first approach to communication
- Able to manage risk, dependencies and resource allocation across a small team
Nice to have
- Experience in marketplace, retail
- Familiarity with affiliate models
- Experience with cross team collaboration (engineering, product, commercial)
