We are looking for an experienced Senior Full-stack Engineer to join our Shop Experience team within the Product Development tribe. You will play a key role in shaping seamless, trustworthy, and high-performing shopping experiences for millions of users around the world. In this role, you will work as part of a cross-functional product squad alongside Product, Design, Analytics, and QA to build and evolve customer-facing features across the full stack. You will contribute not only through technical execution, but also by influencing architecture, engineering practices, experimentation, and operational excellence.
The Role:
- Full-stack Development: You will design, build, and evolve scalable web applications and backend services using React, TypeScript, and Python (Django). You’ll contribute across the entire development lifecycle, from ideation to deployment and monitoring in production.
- Product Collaboration: You will work closely with Product Managers, Designers, Analysts, and fellow engineers to shape solutions that balance user experience, technical quality, and business impact. We are highly data-driven and rely heavily on experimentation to validate ideas and guide decisions.
- Technical Excellence: You will help maintain a high bar for code quality, testing, observability, and system reliability. You’ll contribute to architectural discussions, improve developer experience, and proactively address technical debt where needed.
- Team Contribution: You will mentor and support other engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and collaborative problem-solving. We value curiosity, humility, and continuous improvement across both product and engineering practices.
Within your first 3 months, you will:
- Delivery: Contribute to production systems across frontend and backend services, including tests, documentation, monitoring, and deployment workflows.
- Collaboration: Build strong working relationships across Product, Design, QA, Analytics, and Engineering teams while actively participating in team ceremonies and technical discussions.
- Technical Impact: Improve the stability, observability, and maintainability of our systems through better monitoring, resilient code, and thoughtful testing practices.
- Growth & Ownership: Gain confidence working across our platform and infrastructure while contributing ideas to improve engineering standards, tooling, and team processes.
The Tech Stack & Culture
We work in a “You build it, you ship it, you operate it” culture with a strong emphasis on ownership, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
- Frontend: React, TypeScript, Storybook
- Backend: Python (Django)
- Infrastructure: AWS, Docker, ECS, PostgreSQL, Redis, SQS, SNS
- Tooling & Delivery: GitHub, GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines
- Testing: Strong focus on unit, integration, and end-to-end testing using tools such as React Testing Library, Cypress, and Playwright
Strong Full-stack Engineering Experience: You have experience building and maintaining high-performance web applications across both frontend and backend systems, ideally in consumer-facing or e-commerce environments. This role is backend-leaning.
Frontend Expertise: You have a good knowledge of React, TypeScript, modern web fundamentals, and frontend testing practices. Experience with Storybook and scalable component architectures is highly valued.
Backend & API Development: You are comfortable designing and implementing backend services and APIs using Python frameworks such as Django.
Quality & Craftsmanship: You care deeply about writing readable, maintainable, and well-tested code. You are comfortable refactoring existing systems to improve long-term sustainability rather than working around technical shortcomings.
Collaboration & Communication: You communicate clearly and work effectively across disciplines. You can explain technical ideas, contribute to solution design, and collaborate constructively with teammates and stakeholders.
Delivery Mindset: You are pragmatic, product-minded, and comfortable working in an experimentation-driven environment where data helps guide decisions and priorities.
Bonus points if you have experience with:
- High-traffic consumer or marketplace platforms
- Integration and E2E testing using Cypress or Playwright
- AWS-based distributed systems and observability tooling
