Starting Salary: £40,000 per annum

Role Overview:

  • Work-Life Balance: Monday to Friday, no weekend work.
  • Overtime Opportunities: pick up additional hours as desired.
  • Expanding EV Fleet: manage electric vehicle fleet.

Responsibilities of a Regional Distribution Centre Manager:

  • Ensure all vehicles are maintained in accordance with manufacturers' recommendations, are roadworthy and operate within legal requirements (e.g., payload, tachograph, etc.).
  • Establish and maintain personnel files for all RDC staff and keep records up to date.
  • Motivate staff and hold regular monthly meetings, producing minutes of these meetings.
  • Ensure drivers are instructed on all aspects of operation and vehicles, including procedures, quality, and security.
  • Cover delivery routes for staff holidays, absences, and ad-hoc volume drops.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Hold a current full C1 driving license with no more than 6 minor offence penalty points.
  • Working knowledge of tachographs and EU driving regulations related to the working time directive.
  • Be organized and flexible, able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have a smart personal appearance.
  • Knowledge of tachograph and drivers’ hours regulations.
  • Complete a CRB check.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; regular contact with the company’s customer base.
  • Be team-oriented.
  • Basic PC skills and proficiency in Word, Excel, etc.
