The Business & Opportunity
Operating across the Architectural, Landscaping and Construction sectors, our client has made impressive year on year growth and are continuing to expand into new markets.
They are now looking for an experienced Financial Controller to help them on the next step of their exciting journey.
Taking responsibility for the accounts of 4 separate companies, you will work closely with the Directors and carry out an all-encompassing role.
They require someone on a part-time basis for 24 hours per week, with working hours that best suit you.
You will be based at their prestigious and impressive offices on the North-West side of Leeds, easily commutable from Leeds, Otley, Ilkley, Harrogate and Bradford.
Your Remit
- Reporting to the Directors, you will carry out a varied role, including…
- Producing Monthly Management Accounts.
- Cashflow projections, monitoring working capital and ensuring financial resilience.
- Profit & Loss with Variance Analysis.
- VAT submissions to HMRC, involving different schemes.
- Managing the accounts payable receivable and billing activities.
- Supervising a Finance Assistant.
- Preparing monthly and fortnightly payroll, checking timecards to submit for external processing.
- Ensuring adherence to UK Accounting standards, tax rules and statutory obligations.
- Bank reconciliations and journals.
- CIS Completion and filing with HMRC.
Skills & Experience Required
- Qualified by Experience or Part-qualified/Qualified AAT/ACCA/ACA/CIMA.
- Operated in an SME, at a similar level in an all-encompassing, varied role.
- Experience of handling multi-company accounts or businesses with several entities.
- A knowledge of different VAT schemes.
- Working knowledge of Sage 50, together with an understanding of CIS and Payroll.
- Highly organised, self-motivated, excellent communicator and a good eye for detail.
