The Business & Opportunity: Opportunity to join a well-known established business based between Bradford & Halifax. As a market leader in their field, they provide exceptional customer service and continue to grow year on year, always increasing their profits. Due to this continuous improvement, they are now looking to add an intelligent and ambitious Assistant Management Accountant to their team. You will be given the support and infrastructure to enable you to progress your career, providing you with wider exposure and more management accounts responsibilities. You will be office based 8.30am-4.30pm Monday-Friday and will be generously remunerated with up to £35,000 plus full study support.

Specific Requirement: You will support the finance and accounting team in producing accurate and timely financial information. This will help ensure financial data integrity and support key decision making. Specifically, this will include…

  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Accurately prepare and record all journal entries for all relevant entities.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, documenting reconciling items and ensuring all differences are identified, investigated, and resolved promptly.
  • Prepare VAT returns.
  • Purchase Ledger responsibilities.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Provide support for the year-end audit and statutory account preparation.
  • Support the Financial Controller and Management Accountant with ad hoc projects and process improvements where necessary.
  • Support stock reporting.
  • Provide adequate cover over the finance team where required.
  • Any other ad-hoc tasks as requested.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Part qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA, ACA) or AAT Studier.
  • Relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and reporting skills.
  • Excellent IT skills (including strong Excel skills).
  • Inquisitive and a finisher.
